This society is designed to be fun and informative. Meetings are once a month and we hope to recruit great speakers that will teach, as well as entertain us, so that each meeting may be the most positive experience possible.
Members can read samples of their latest or favorite work or read passages from their books for an appreciative audience of fellow artists. Occasionally, those members that belong to other organizations or clubs can also use their time to pitch their organizations to fellow members and tell us what they're all about.
Members are also encouraged to list their book(s) on the "Books" page of this website. On this page, we will feature the member's book(s) along with a link to their own website, or their Amazon, or Barnes&Noble page where their work can be perused and/or purchased by members or non-members.
What about Genres?
We welcome all types of genres to the society. From commercial and literary fiction, to scientific, cultural, or narrative nonfiction.
Special Meetings
Once every quarter (every three months), members are welcome to donate new or lightly used reference books, software, CD's, DVD's, or anything else writing and/or publishing related to auction off to fellow members at the meeting with proceeds going to the upkeep of the society and its events. During these quarterly meetings, there will also be society memorabilia available for purchase.
Events
Once a year we will have the Latino Authors & Writers Conference, which will feature guest speakers, goody bags, food, networking, and just great times all around! Members that have paid their dues for the year will only have to pay half-price to attend a society sponsored event. This year's fee for the conference is $40.00 for non-members. As time progresses, we also hope to introduce the Latino Authors & Writers Ball, as well as other events and social gatherings.
The Society Dues... Just $25.00 per year!
